SUMMARY:8/23/23 - Youth Safety League
DESCRIPTION:Howell’s Youth Safety League is a monthly 60 minute lesson and range time for students 10 to 18 designed to instill firearm safety\, education and marksmanship skills. This program is an opportunity for our young students to learn with others\, make friends\, build character\, and continue the tradition of shooting sports and safety practices. This league is open to all students whom have taken a private lesson at Howell’s within one calendar year where the basics of range safety and etiquette are taught on a one-on-one basis. Students must be accompanied by a participating parent/guardian over the age of 21 years old. \nMontly meetings focus on safety and a themed lesson on marksmanship and precision. Participants then transition to the range to shoot the NRA Pistol Qualification and NRA Rifle Qualification exercises and progress through the series at their own pace. Individual coaching\, safety monitors (RSO’s) are present to support each participant and their accompanying parent/guardian in the range at all times. \nRequired Equipment \n\n.22lr\, 380 or 9mm Semi Automatic handguns provided\nParticipants are welcome to bring their own .22lr\, 380 or 9mm Semi Automatic handguns to work with during class\n100 to 150 rounds of caliber appropriate FMJ Ball ammunition estimated per class\nAmmunition can be purchased at check-in if utilizing Howell’s equipment\nHowell’s equipment requires ammunition purchase from Howell’s (nothing brought in from home please.)\nEye protection for both participant and guardian (available for purchase at check-in)\nHearing protection for both participant and guardian (available for purchase at check-in)\nRange appropriate attire for both participant and parent/guardian\nClosed toe shoes for both participant and guardian\nA good attitude and an open mind 🙂\n\n\n\nHOWELL’S TERMS – CLASS CANCELLATIONS \nNo Call/No Show: All no-call/no-show participants will be non-refundable not eligible for store credit or transfer. \nLate Arrival: Arriving more than 15 minutes after class start time is considered no-call/no-show. \nStudent Cancelation: Refunds for 100% balance of event fee\, if no transfer is possible\, are issued ONLY if we are notified of the cancellation more than 48 hours in advance of the event date. Notifications received within 48 hours of the event date are eligible for 50% refund or 50% tuition value applied towards an upcoming course within one calendar year. \nHowell’s Cancelation: Should Howell’s need to cancel a class students will be contacted via email\, phone and/or text with as much notice as possible. All students will be provided an option to transfer into an upcoming event of their choosing or receive a full refund. \nStudent Transfer: One transfer is permitted per original transaction\, per customer\, within the terms outlined above\, and must be conducted within a calendar year of the original booking date. \nGuest Instructors: There are no refunds or transfers on guest instructor classes including Defensive Handgun through Howell’s Gun Shop. No Exceptions. When a student enrolls for a hosted class\, the student accepts the terms of the company (instructor) they are registering through.
