DESCRIPTION:Howell’s is pleased to host John Murphy of FPF Training for this one-day course! \nBEFORE\, DURING AND AFTER\nBASIC – A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO SELF-RELIANCE AND DEFENSE SKILLS\nDuration: 4 hours video\, 8 hours range time\nCourse Fee: $250 + range fees ($35 range fee due to Howell’s upon check-in for all non-Howell’s members)\nAmmunition Requirement: 300 Rounds\nPepper Spray: Students will be provided with two POM trainers and one live-agent dispenser\nPrerequisites: Students MUST have had prior training and experience in drawing from the holster.\nLocation: Howell’s Gun Shop \nREGISTER NOW – CLICK HERE!\nThe self reliant lifestyle requires that we possess the capacity to scale our skills to the situations we encounter. “Before\, During and After” is a one day class\, augmented with prior learning via YouTube\, intended to impart the knowledge\, skills and experience necessary for successful boundary enforcement and self-defense. Students will achieve this end state via a series of drills\, exercises\, and scenarios that address managing situations before\, during and after they become violent. This is NOT a how to shoot class but rather an opportunity to exercise decision making skills in a no-consequence\, learning environment.\n \nABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR – John Murphy\nJohn recently retired after 25 years of service in the Marines and the intelligence community\, but he makes no claim to being a combat veteran. He considers himself very fortunate to have trained under some of the most respected firearms instructors in the country\, and he’s learned much more about shooting and self-defense outside the military than he ever did during his service. As an instructor\, John has incorporated the best and most practical methods and techniques into his courses\, and he continues to train and refine his skills every year\, both as a defensive shooter and as a trainer. John has presented classroom and range instruction at the multiple Rangemaster Conferences\, and currently holds a “Master Instructor” rating from Rangemaster\, and is a graduate of Massad Ayoob’s “Lethal Force Instructor” program. \nABOUT FPF TRAINING – Self-Defense Is More Than Shooting\nShooting accurately is a mechanical skill that’s relatively easy to learn. But shooting is only one small part of the self-defense paradigm. For average citizens to get the best return on their investment of training time and money\, we believe shooting skills must be acquired and practiced not in a vacuum but in an immersive\, real-world context that reinforces the spectrum of skills required for the adoption of this lifestyle. \nOur mission is to provide training focused on the skills that provide the best chance for success in a self-defense situation. No Hollywood-style gun play or “trademark pending” techniques that look cool but fail under the pressure of violence wielded by a determined opponent.
