We wanted to provide an important update for those who submitted an application through SilencerShop prior to the December 26 deadline and received confirmation that it was accepted for processing.
We have recently been notified that any applications not approved before January 1 are being returned with a status of “no action” due to statutory changes that took effect on January 1. As a result, even applications submitted before the deadline must now be resubmitted under the new $0 tax structure.
If you previously paid the $200 tax through SilencerShop before the deadline, and were not approved, that amount will be refunded directly to you.
Additionally, the ATF has informed us that approval or denial notifications will no longer be sent directly to individuals. Going forward, dealers will receive these notifications via email. As soon as we receive any status updates, we will reach out to you directly.
We understand how frustrating this situation is, especially given the information originally provided, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding. Please know that our team is working tirelessly, both in the shop and behind the scenes, to manage this transition as smoothly as possible.
